Project SAIL aimed to improve the scientific understanding of the marine boundary layer by means of a unique monitoring campaign on board the iconic Portuguese tall ship NRP Sagres during its 2020 circumnavigation expedition. This dataset comprises the pre-processed atmospheric measurements from the SAIL campaign. It is derived from the raw measurements (https://doi.org/10.25747/b2ff-kg31) by applying preliminary quality-control and pre-processing procedures. The jupyter notebooks documenting the pre-processing of the data are publicly available on Zenodo's Project SAIL community (https://zenodo.org/communities/sail). Detailed information on the pre-processing procedures can be found in the project's data management plan (DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4286209). This dataset currently includes the resources detailed below. Additional resources will be added as they become available. * ATMOSPHERIC ELECTRIC FIELD The resource SAIL_PD_E1.txt contains the pre-processed data from the primary atmospheric electric field measurements in the upper mast (E1), with the following structure: col 1: date (yyyy-mm-dd) col 2: time (HH:MM) col 3: potential gradient (V/m) col 4: standard deviation (V/m) col 5: longitude (degrees E) col 6: latitude (degrees N) The resource SAIL_PD_E2.txt contains the pre-processed data from the secondary atmospheric electric field measurements in the lower mast (E2), and has the following structure: col 1: date (yyyy-mm-dd) col 2: time (HH:MM) col 3: potential gradient (V/m) col 4: standard deviation (V/m) col 5: longitude (degrees E) col 6: latitude (degrees N) The jupyter notebooks implementing the pre-processing and quality control procedures for the electric field observations are available on Zenodo's Project SAIL community (https://zenodo.org/doi/10.5281/zenodo.10125809). * GAMMA RADIATION The resource SAIL_PD_GA.txt contains the pre-processed gamma radiation observations, and has the following structure: col 1: date (yyyy-mm-dd) col 2: time (HH:MM) col 3: gamma counts (counts/minute) col 4: standard deviation (counts/minute) col 4: longitude (degrees E) col 5: latitude (degrees N) The jupyter notebook implementing the pre-processing and quality control procedures for the gamma radiation observations are available on Zenodo's Project SAIL community (https://zenodo.org/doi/10.5281/zenodo.10134221).
